Dear GYA, As the saying goes, "Once bitten, twice shy." So fellas, take it from me, a guy who's been to a ton of Great White shows, don't be the only dude there that doesn't look like a girl. Seriously, there's no limit to how high you can tease your hair for tonight's Great White show at Barbary Coast. The higher the better. Anything else happening this weekend besides a Great White show? - Bobby Chunnel, Murray 

Bobby, I tease my bangs everyday, regardless if there's a Great White show. Here's what else is happening this weekend: 

Friday's events:

Coheed & Cambria and Thank You Scientists will be at The Complex tonight. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25. 

SLUG Localized will feature a solid showcase of great local music this evening featuring Sonic Prophecy, Dethblow and Mister Richter. The music starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5. 

Pop-folk singer/songwriter Mason Jennings will be at The State Room. Lucette is also performing. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30. 

Local indie band Nora Dates will be hosting an album release party at Kilby Court tonight. The Wasatch Fault, Jesus Christ and the God Damns and Radiator Hospital are also on the bill.

The Utah State Fair will be going on all weekend out at the Utah State Fairgrounds. Tonight, Grand Funk Railroad will be performing. 


Saturday's events: 

The Strut Your Mutt dog walk, fundraiser and dog festival will be going down at Liberty Park today. The dog party starts at 8 a.m. Admission is $30. 

New York-based rock band The Dig will be at The Shred Shed this evening. Local bands Koala Temple and Giraffula will open up. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8. 

Southern rock band Alabama will be at Usana Amphiteatre tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $30. 

Level 1 and 4FRNT skis will be premiering their latest ski flicks tonight at The Depot. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20. 

The Utah State Fair is still going strong out at the Utah State Fair Grounds. Tonight, Disney's Zendaya will be performing.

Singer/songwriter Conor Oberst will be at Red Butte Garden this evening. Jonathan Wilson is also performing. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $25. 


Sunday's events: 

Geeks Who Drink pub trivia will be happening at Piper Down this evening. The quizzin' starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes will be at Urban Lounge tonight. Local bands The North Valley and Mimi Knowles will warm it up. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.

Tonight at Bourbon House, it's Funk and Soul Night with DJ Street Jesus. The music starts at 9 p.m. There's no cover.
