9th & 9th Street Festival

Saturday Sept. 18 @ 9th & 9th

There’s a certain pride that 9th & 9th dwellers have about their eclectic ’hood, especially after 9th & 9th’s 2007 facelift. Its proximity to Liberty Park, its streets that now have bike lanes, its brick rambler homes, its kinetic sculptures—”The Nine Muses”—and green benches make a welcoming environment. The wrought-iron “9th & 9th” sign beckons those driving eastward on 900 South to vist the intersection’s restaurants and shops.

To celebrate the area and serve as a meet-and-greet for neighbors and outsiders, the annual 9th & 9th Street Festival will make the lively streets even more vibrant Saturday. Local restaurants Pago and Mazza will open their doors for festival-goers, while Tulie Bakery and others will have streetside booths. Local artists and craftspeople will be selling goods, while the Joe Muscolino Band, Belly Dancing by Thia and Highway 6 will perform. There’ll also be a sustainability exhibit, in partnership with ReDirect Guide. All of which might leave you inquiring with your Realtor about relocation options.
