To the lucky poet or painter, art is everywhere. Thankfully, for the rest of us, the Salt Lake Art Center and Aperture Marketing have partnered to host the second-annual local Art Meets Fashion event, where art literally will be everywhere in a multidisciplinary artsy overload for the senses.

Following a cocktail hour with visually stimulating food concoctions, backdropped by SLAC’s new exhibit Go West, the runway show will debut cutting-edge lines from local designers Rebekah McKinney, McKell Maddox, Jordan Halversen, Krista Nielson, Rachael Domingo and Keith Bryce. Then, Hollywood costume designer Michelle Boucher’s unique creations will accompany fashion photographer Jake Garn’s live photo shoot. Student fashion, performance art by Salt Lake City Ballet, Beauté Dérangée and Voodoo Darlings, music by DJ duo Custom Model, performance by opera singer Julia Wentz and a dance performance by hip-hop group NoiZ will also be featured.

Better still, all the proceeds will benefit the Human Rights Campaign and the Salt Lake Art Center. SLC hasn’t been this chic in a long time.
