Funk & Soul Sundays

Even though the once-popular television show Soul Train is long gone, it doesn’t mean that people don’t want the funk. Damnit, we always want the funk and, thankfully, DJ Street Jesus is SLC’s modern-day Don Cornelius. Every Sunday night at Bourbon House (19 E. 200 South, 801-746-1005), Street Jesus whips through a vast library of familiar cuts, like Sly & the Family Stone, The Meters and The Delfonics for an evening appropriately called Funk & Soul Night. While you’re gettin’ down, take advantage of the wallet-friendly $4 Jameson shots, $3 Full Sail IPAs and $3 Sessions. Coming up on the roster, check out the Zach Hillyard Band on Saturday, March 2, and don’t forget about Bourbon’s Thursday Night Karaoke, hosted by Spotlight Entertainment. (Photos from Feb. 22)
