June’s atypical rainfall seemed kind of mysterious to plenty of Utahns. Now, the more typical rhythms of a Utah summer have settled in—and you can get your mystery in a moreentertaining package.

Free outdoor movie nights returned to the Gallivan Center in July, as the venue continues a mini Alfred Hitchcock film festival. Last week kicked off with Rear Window. This week, it’s Hitch’s take on the stage thriller Dial “M” for Murder—about a kept man planning to have his wealthy wife killed so he can inherit her riches—which was just produced by Pioneer Theatre Company last season. The fourweek series continues on July 20 (Vertigo) and July 27 (The Birds), providing plenty of opportunity for you to cuddle up under the stars with a loved one as the creepiness plays out on screen. And since it’s a free evening of classic cinema, it’s no mystery why it might be an appealing option.
