If you’re itching to hit the town on New Year’s Eve but still haven’t made up your mind about which bar will show you the best time, we pulled together a cheat sheet of many Salt Lake City’s bars’ and clubs’ offerings. Area 51
Tagged as the New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball, guests are encouraged to dress in fantasy costumes. Enjoy a Champagne toast, party favors and a free raffle giveaway of more than $1,000 in cash and prizes. There will also be gift bags for the first 100 people through the door. Cover is $10. Bar Named Sue
Southern country-rock legend D. Ryan will be onstage, straight outta Texas. Plus, there will be plenty of party favors and a Champagne toast. Bar-X

The Bourbon House

Brewskis

Brewvies
There will be an actual red carpet at this movie-themed New Year’s Eve bash, so make sure to wear your best for this event, which also includes prizes, a costume contest, free pool, a free screening of Back to the Future and a film fest featuring local filmmakers. 677 S. 200 West, Salt Lake City, 801-322-3891, Brewvies.com

Circle Lounge
At the Black & White Party, there will be an all-you-eat sushi bar from 7 to 11 p.m. for $30 (which includes cover) and music by SCADA and DJ Mad Mike. Club 90

Fat’s Grill

Habits
This is one of the club’s biggest parties of the year and features music by DJ Scotty B, balloon drops, prize giveaways and dinner specials. Cover starts at $20 in advance and $30 at the door. The Hotel
The New Year’s Eve Prom will feature three DJs (DJ Juggy, DJ Handsome Hands and DJ Sayo) performing in three different rooms with three different balloon drops. Ring in the new year with an old-timey speakeasy theme. Staff will be dressed up as Prohibition bootleggers; guests are encouraged to dress up as well. Marriot at Salt Lake City University Park
For $49, you can get down at the Puttin’ on the Ritz, a Roaring ’20s New Year’s Eve bash. Expect a DJ and live music from the John Flanders Quartet, wine classes, dance lessons and even a pub quiz hosted by Geeks Who Drink. Maxwell’s East Coast Eatery
Guests are encouraged to wear their finest white getups for the New Year’s Eve White Party. A huge variety of Champagne will be available as well as reserved booths. Expect music by DJ Godina.
