However, I don’t understand how our Utah Legislature could give a round of applause for the conduct of Garn. So, is our mostly Republican and mostly LDS Utah Legislature condoning Garn’s behavior of 25 years ago?

If this happened to another man who had no power, influence or money, that man would be paying a lot heavier price than Garn. His life would be tarnished and filled with legal bills—ruined, because the press would crucify him. Yet, the local media have given Garn a pass. Why? Was Garn not with a 15-year-old child and he was a 30-year-old married man, naked in a hot tub?

It seems like every year, the Republican Legislature proposes all these moral bills toward those who are the minority and disfranchised here in our state.

Yet, Republican legislators cannot bring a solid, straightforward “ethical bill” to kick them out of the Legislature when they have been “unethical” themselves?

If they really believe in the principles and doctrine of the LDS Church, they (Republicans) should jump at a chance to for this reform. Why are they fighting these reforms as well stopping citizen initiatives that clearly voters want?

The citizens of Utah elect these officials to lead. Remember, we can fire them by not re-electing them. Will citizens keep voting for the straight-party ticket, not caring whom they elect? Is that very moral?

Let’s hope the common Utah citizen realizes that the Utah Legislature needs to stop passing these silly, dumbass, antifederal resolutions like those that Rep.

Carl Wimmer, R-Herriman, supported this legislative session. Those resolutions make  the Utah Legislature look like idiots.
