The word has been a derogatory epithet, a way of dismissing practices as strange, a source of friction within families, even a historical excuse for execution. But what does it mean to be a pagan in the 21st century?

For the eighth year, Salt Lake City’s Pagan Pride Day will attempt to provide answers to that question. The free day-long event (non-perishable food donation for Utah Food Bank encouraged) provides opportunities to experience pagan religious ceremonies, as well as information and workshops covering the wide range of pagan spiritual practices: Wicca, Asatru, eco-spirituality and reverence for the divine feminine as well as masculine. Join Utah’s pagan community for music, Mother Goose fairy tales and—perhaps most important of all—a chance to dispel some lingering ignorance. Blessed be.
