Two generations of visitors to Disneyland have finished their visits to the Magic Kingdom with the glitter of the Main Street Electrical Parade. You can experience an electric parade on Main Street without even having to leave the state.

The darkest day of the year gets a little bit brighter as Park City hosts a Winter Solstice Electric Parade. Everything from bicycles to big rigs get decked out in festive lights, offering a twist on the more familiar holiday tradition of getting in the car and driving around lit-up neighborhoods. The parade of twinkling transportation begins at 6 p.m. at City Park, proceeding up Park Avenue to Historic Main Street.

You can even participate yourself if you’re feeling ambitious. Register by e-mailing Alison@historicparkcityutah.com, and visit one of the many Websites that offer tips on how to hook up decorations to your car battery.
