Epic @ Faustina
On Thursday, June 28 at 6 p.m., Epic Brewing will join forces with Faustina (454 E. 300 South) to host a beer pairing dinner on the restaurant’s newly revamped garden patio. Epic’s head brewer, Kevin Crompton, will be there to educate diners about Epic Brewing fundamentals and the distinctions of each selection, along with tasting notes for beers complementing Executive Chef Billy Sotelo’s summer menu. The four-course menu is $30 for dinner and $20 for the beer pairings. “I created this special menu based on the flavor profiles of each beer selection,” Sotelo says. “I’m excited for this event ... and the new patio is the bomb. It’s the recipe for a perfect summer evening.” Menu items include beer-battered halibut paired with Copper Cone Pale Ale; pan-seared duck and sweet-potato gnocchi with Bing cherry sauce paired with Epic’s Brainless on Cherries; crostini with burrata mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes and locally cured speck paired with Wit Beer; and a dessert of banana cake, oatmeal ice cream, almond brittle and popcorn cream paired with a choice of 825 State Stout or Smoked & Oaked Ale. Reservations for the beer pairing dinner are required and can be made by calling 801-746-4441. Visit FaustinaSLC.com for more information.
