This week, do some good and feel good at the same time. Stop by Ten Thousand Villages, where purchasing a unique fair-trade gift will also benefit low-income Utahns. During the weekend, take part in Peaceful Uprising’s Climate Bold School and learn how to work toward a climate-change solution. Later, take part in a fundraiser to bring yoga classes to those who could really stand to de-stress: prisoners, and adults and teens in homeless shelters.

Ten Thousand Villages works to support
indigenous artists in the developing
world by giving them a first-world retail outlet. Purchases made are fair-trade and ensure profits for the crafter,
making it a great place to do some guilt-free shopping—especially on Friday, when 15 percent of sales will go to help the Crossroads Urban Center serve low-income Utahns. Ten Thousand Villages, 120 S. Main, 801-485-8827, Dec. 7, 5-8 p.m., SaltLakeCity.TenThousandVillages.com
Climate Justice Bold School
Saturday, Dec. 8
Peaceful Uprising will be holding the second session of its Climate Justice Bold School to educate people about the challenges of climate change and a
society that’s not ready to face it. This session, PeaceUp welcomes the Inclusion Center to help them get to the root of the problem by defining what climate
justice means and teaching them how to rally different parties to that
fundamental cause. Centro Civico Mexicano, 155 S. 600 West, Dec. 8, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., to RSVP visit PeacefulUprising.org
Yoga for People

While the yoga itself will make you feel great, you will feel even greater knowing that your $12 admission to the class benefits Yoga for People, a nonprofit seeking to bring yoga classes to those who can’t afford traditional classes, including at-risk youth and residents of homeless and domestic-violence shelters.
Trolley Square, 647 E. 600 South, 801-999-8479, Dec. 12, drop in any hour from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., YogaForPeople.org
