Jamie Gadette: To the Trib’s Heather May and Rosemary Winters: “Good for one martini night with Jamie and Brandon” certificates.
nn
Holly Mullen: I wish every employee at every newspaper a nice Christmas bonus (though I know that’s a pipe dream) because they help keep the First Amendment holy.
nn
Bryan Bale: Great idea. I should send some CDs of Kairo by Night music to the D-News’ Courtney Sargent, the photographer behind a very nicely done slide show of photos from Meeting of the Tribes at the Masonic Temple on Dec. 6. I’m pleasantly surprised that the News presented belly dancing in such a positive light.
nTed Scheffler: Being one of the few local “old school” food writers still standing, I’d send The D-News’ Valerie Phillips (and me) a Christmas wish that we’re both still employed this time next year!
nn
Brandon Burt: A wish that I hadn’t flaked on that get-together at the Pie with Heather May and Robert Gehrke a few months back, and another wish that, one day soon, people will rediscover the joys of reading.
nn
Paula Saltas: I’d like to send them all a gift subscription to the Nephi Times-News, Utah’s only real newspaper.
nn
Brookelle Gaztambide: I would give a case of wine to Lisa Carricaburu, the Trib’s assistant managing editor. She works her butt off and I’m sure MediaNews doesn’t recognize it.
nJennifer Nixon: Good luck and good cheer in the New Year.
nn
Monica Sorensen: “Merry Christmas! Sorry I’ve never read your paper and probably never will.”
nn
Derek Carlisle: I would wish the gift of all Web and TV media becoming useless; therefore, leaving only us paper folk to engage in a competitive race to improve on the true form of media, the written word.
nn
Jerre Wroble: I will send virtual drinks on Facebook to anyone who requests. Who knows what 2009 will bring?
nn
Jeremiah Smith: A bottle of Champagne, a box of tissues and a card that reads, “Thanks for the memories.” tttt
