AlaCart2Go’s Ross Harrington, on 200 South, gives the thumbs down to police leaving squad cars at the station at the end of the day'an idea was floated during Salt Lake City’s budget talks:

Let the cops take their cars home. The more the merrier. If something happens'a major incident, either a natural disaster or manmade disaster, a terrorist act or whatever'what? You’re going to have the cops go to the police station, get their car, check out all their stuff and then go? You just lost all the advantage of rapid response. We’ve got enough cars for them to be taken home. And I, for one, would sure like to know that if something does happen, we’ve got cops there within minutes vs. an hour or two.
