The majority of Congress asserts the public is overreacting to the health-care proposal under consideration, saying it is a good bill.

Yet, their actions speak louder than their words. When Congress exempted itself from having to participate in this complete overhaul of our health-care system, Congress, in essence, said, “It is good enough for you, but it is not good enough for us.”

How can we have an honest debate on the merits of the plan?

Perhaps if our congressional representatives were required to participate in this plan, they might actually read it and consider how it would affect everyone. The American public should demand no less. Congress must be part of any proposal because we know our representatives will make sure that their interests are served and, by extension, so will ours.
