“No reason to be alarmed.” So says a clean-shaven guy in dark overcoat standing with other guys wearing Homeland Security jackets and Utah transit cops. The grouping was seen hanging out at several downtown TRAX stations as commuters headed home from work Wednesday.

The group wouldn’t say what they were up to. Duane Baird, Salt Lake City public information manager for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration, says it was routine. TSA periodically sends its inspectors to places other than the airport--in part to be seen doing so by any nefarious customers about. Who knew? TSA protecting us outside of the airport. Lets hope they keep the wanding to a minimum.
