We continually hear the complaint that downtown SLC is dead. Well, not so fast. Tonight is the grand opening of Sandbar Mexican Grill, which should kick-start the Pierpont entertainment district, providing the missing link between The Hotel/Elevate, Bliss and Lumpy's Downtown. Sandbar's doors open at 7:00 PM and the dance floor gets into the swing at 9:00 PM with DJ Birdman. Sandbar Mexican Grill is open for lunch daily at 11:00 AM and the taco bar stays open 'til 1 AM. 122 West Pierpont Avenue.
