In 1999, Matthew Lillard became a new fictional face of Utah. The gangly young actor starred in SLC Punk, a movie based on writer-director James Merendino's experience growing up punk in Salt Lake City. Shot in SLC and featuring exaggerated versions of Merendino's real-life friends/acquaintances, the film offered for many a fun, poignant and, yes, skewed walk down memory lane - not to mention a bitchin soundtrack.
