Both series deciding games in the NBA on Sunday were about as interesting as a sock drawer sorting seminar with Martha Stewart.
I got some weeds pulled and circumvented my inner fears due to recent events in my backyard…
The Lakers beat H-Town by 19, and Orlando beat Beantown by 19.
Conspiracy theory # 411: Don’t have “town” in your city’s nickname.
However, it looks like NBA commish David Stern is getting his wish. The Kobe – LeBron showdown. That’s what he wants, that’s what the fans want and that’s what NBA marketers and advertisers want. Trust me, the prospect of a Denver / Orlando NBA Finals is so dismal that Stern has already made the call to his referee crew. Conspiracy theory #412: If Orlando or Denver even gets close to knocking off Stern’s ad money ticket, “mysterious” fouls will be called.
Denver will rough up the Lakers a bit, because they are a bunch of bruisers, but the Kobe show will get enough star treatment to win out. Same with LeBron & whatever team he plays for.
The Conference Finals begin Tuesday & Wednesday, so you’ve got those blog posts to look forward to.
