Tonight, ABC debuts its first animated series in 10 years, The Goode Family--by Mike Judge, he of King of the Hill, Office Space, Beavis & Butt-head and Idiocracy. It's essentially a flip of King of the Hill: Instead of meat-grillin' rednecks, they're politically-correct urbanites living the "green" lifestyle. Also, unlike King of the Hill, it's not actually funny. These tedious PC jokes have been done a thousand times before, long ago, by better comedies--Judge isn't just phoning it in, he's faxing it from 1999.
