Utah Arts Fest - Hot Picks | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you.

Utah Arts Fest - Hot Picks

The Utah Arts Festival is in full effect - rain, shine, celebrity death ... nothing can stop the annual event from going off! I used to spend all day every day hanging around the grounds, eatin' sno-cones and purchasing ghastly caricatures by artists fixated on my pointy chin. In recent years, UAF organizers have really stepped up their game on the music front, giving local artists first dibs on center stage and prime-time slots. The move has been so successful, in fact, it's impossible to catch every out-of-sight act. Some folks to keep in mind:

Band of Annuals, Elizabethan Report, Marvin Payne & The Gifted Seed, Oh! Wild Birds

Haun's Hill Massacre, Two and a Half White Guys, James Shook & The Resolutions, Afro Omega, Mana Poly All Stars

AJ, Slim Chance & His Psychobilly Playboys, Andrew Goldring (all grown up!), M. Sartain, Laserfang (do NOT miss these guys), TR Ritchie

Check the schedule for details. I'll be there - eatin' almonds
