Sunday: Share your strength | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you.

Sunday: Share your strength

Just a reminder to help fight childhood hunger on Sunday by sharing your strength at Taste of the Nation: ---

If there is a more fun and indulgent way to contribute to a good cause than Taste of the Nation, I don’t know what it is. Sponsored by Share Our Strength, 100 percent of ticket sales to the annual food-and-wine festival that is Taste of the Nation goes toward ending childhood hunger in America.

Taste of the Nation Utah takes place on Sunday, Aug. 2, from noon–4 p.m. at Solitude Mountain Resort in beautiful Big Cottonwood Canyon. Taste of the Nation Utah features food from more than 40 of Utah’s best chefs and restaurants, along with wine tasting, live music (will the Brothers Stoddard reunite for another celebrated appearance?) and a silent auction. I'll also be emceeing the live auction.

Advance tickets for Taste of the Nation Utah are $75 for general admission, $125 for VIP seating, $1,200 for a 10-person VIP table, and $1,400 for a group of 20 general-admission tickets. To purchase tickets for Taste of the Nation online, go to At the Share Our Strength Website, you can also learn how to get your own restaurant involved in Taste of the Nation.

In addition, you can support Share Our Strength’s Operation No Kid Hungry via your mobile phone by texting “share” to 20222 to donate $5. AT&T will match all text donations up to $100. See you at Solitude!
