While swinging is supposedly about freedom of personal choice, if you read Swingular choice seems to be the last option open to you. Offer an opinion and you can get slammed. Such is the drama and the bashing that goes on in the forum, one member proposed calling it Hateular. One poster asked when the site would return to discussing sex. “Fuck we are sick of all the fighting and bullshit going on in this site. CAN’T WE ALL JUST FUCK AND GET ALONG?????????”
Amid the threads on kicking out couples over 45 and slamming the subject of a City Weekly cover story last December, Eden House, was one on single men being discriminated against by couples. One couple wrote, “Swinging is about sharing. Since [single men] have nothing to share you have no rights. […] Just like the toys in the draw you come out when you are called for. Otherwise keep quiet. You are just looking for a little free pussy to be blunt. You are too cheap to pay for it.”
This vicious tone on Swingular came to ahead recently over a party at one of the community’s leading couple’s house. According to a single female from Denver, Co. posting on July 25, after railing against being bashed online by members of the community elite whom she terms “the chosen few,” she turns her attention to another couple in Utah’s swinging hierarchy. “I wonder if we can get rid of those couples who give their DAUGHTER a fuck-a-thon for her 21st birthday.” She then writes that friends who attended the party left in disgust when they found out its theme.
Other posters rallied to the defense of the parents, describing the accusation as “FUCKED UP no matter what hatefull [sic] history there is between you guys.” Nothing inappropriate, the poster claimed, was going on with the couples’ daughter.
