President John F. Kennedy's sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver, died this morning. ---

Eunice Kennedy Shriver was a champion for the rights of the mentally disabled and founder of the Special Olympics. The program that started in her back yard has grown to a world wide event involving 10,000 athletes from 150 different countries, proving that sometimes, people with power and money do great things.

She was also the wife of 1972 vice presidential candidate and former Peace Corps director R. Sargent Shriver, and the mother-in-law of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
