Last month, The Wizard of Oz celebrated the 70th anniversary of its theatrical release. It's not too late to join the birthday party. ---

Fathom Events -- the nationwide program that turns movie theaters into viewing arenas for sports, lectures and a variety of other special screenings -- is presenting a special opportunity to see The Wizard of Oz on the big screen. At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, Utah Cinemark Theaters locations -- including the Century 16 theaters in South Salt Lake and Midvale, and the Jordan Landing theater -- Oz will screen in digitally remastered high definition. The movie palaces of the 1930s may be long gone, but here's your chance to get as close to that original experience as you can.
