Hail, Mary | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Hail, Mary

Most free thinking people call it dumb luck. NFL sports casters call it a “hail mary” pass. I just call it ---

More bullshit from Brett Favre.

After 59 minutes and 58 seconds of football, the 49ers had the Vikings beat, hands down. Then Brenda Favre did what she always does when she has lost a game. She throws up a prayer and hopes someone on her team catches it. This time someone did. Someone named Greg Lewis. Fantasy footballers know him as the 87th best wide receiver in the NFL. If you google images of Greg Lewis, this is what comes up. Ohhh… there it is in the bottom right corner. Photograph by Greg Lewis. Probably not the same guy.

Of course ESPN slurped Brett’s ass all night and all day saying ridiculous shit like “that’s why Minnesota got him…” and “another chapter in the legend…” blah blah blah.

No one has the balls to call it what it is… a lucky last second desperate prayer of a play.

Oh wait, I just did.
