During a road trip that took me through Kamas, UT last week (not to be confused with Samak, UT, the next town over), I discovered a fantastic little burger joint worthy of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. --- Dick's Drive-In is a classic, small-town drive-in with some of the best burgers, milkshakes and malts you'll ever find.
The small cafe is sparkling clean, but I chose to use the drive-thru (Dick's is a drive-in, after all), where an uber-friendly grandma-type took my order. "It'll be up in just a second!" she said, as I idled, waiting for my first Dick's burger. Well, it was everything I hoped it would be -- a cheeseburger from heaven, positively dreamy.
This might sound gross, but there's something special about the grease at Dick's. My burger, nicely crispy on the edges, tasted like it had been cooked in grease with a vintage of about 1956 -- and I mean that lovingly. The burger at Dick's is served on a square-shaped, buttery bun, which only adds to the marvelousness of this superb burger.
The only way to improve a Dick's Drive-In burger is to wash it down with a super-thick malt or milkshake. My advise: Get your ass to Kamas.
