We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Fresh Prince of Eve?

Rumors are flying that Will "Fresh Prince" Smith may join old partner DJ Jazzy Jeff on Eve's Pierpont stage tonight. Sure, might as well throw in Kid N' Play and Kriss Kross while you're at it. ---

The likelihood of Smith showing up for free aside, DJ Jazzy Jeff can hold his own--the man has skills, and he had nothing to do with Wild Wild West. Just sayin.'

Prior to the possible hip-hop reunion of a lunchtime, the Battle of the Tribute Bands continues on the Pierpont stage with Kiss Thiss (Kiss, of course), Available Light (Rush) and Heart-Shaped Box (Nirvana), 7-9 p.m.

Over at the Gallivan Center tonight, the locals stage hosts the School of Rock Allstars (4 p.m.), Discourse (5:30 p.m.), Muscle Hawk (6:30 p.m.) and Paul Jacobsen & The Madison Arm (8 p.m.).

So, will Smith (ha!) show up at Pierpont at 9 tonight? Might be worth a ticket to find out: EveSLC.com.
