We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

It seems like last year when the National Championship teams were announced. Oh wait... ---

God I'm hilarious. Here it is, the game that loyal college football fans have been waiting for since, well... last year. And I mean 2008. Texas vs Alabama. Arguably the two best teams in college football regardless of the BCS nonsense. One would like to think that if there were a playoff, these two teams would have won out and played for the National Championship anyway. (SO WHY NOT PLAY THE FUCKING GAMES AND FIND OUT??)

Ok, ok calm blue oceans.

Anyway, even if you are a casual observer, or you really want to know if these are the best that NCAA football has to offer, this is the only game to watch. Live from the Rose Bowl in beautiful Pasadena where I had one of the best dates of my life with an amazing waitress named Shayla who drove a blue 1968 Road Runner and had my room mates staring out the window when she brought me home...

The National Championship game, Texas vs Alabama. 6pm on ABC.
