Glade Sowards is one of the most humble talents in town. A veteran of Salt Lake City's folk/country scene, he has always - for the most part - happily laid low while his friends soaked up the spotlight. These friends, of course, always tried to pull him in along with them. They finally succeeded last summer, releasing his self-titled album at a show billed as David Williams' CD Release. Tonight, he plays with Indian Headset who also deserves more attention. Read more about Glade in Brian Staker's profile---

Also tonight, The Devil Whale co-headlines Urban Lounge (241 S. 500 East) with Cub Country. Both artists are CWMA nominees. Find the complete list here.

And, for those craving a dose of 80s/90s hair metal, soak up the glory days of the Sunset Strip with either Metal Gods at Liquid Joe's (1249 E. 3300 South) or Hair Nation at Allure (8925 S. 255 West)

Last but not least, Orion Independent Music Festival kicks off its week-long debut at multiple Park City and Salt Lake City venues. See Jacob Stringer's article for details.

I'll leave you with this piece on Jay Reatard, a promising artist who passed away yesterday at the age of 29. R.I.P.
