We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

Chris Buttars' Government Reform Summit!

Utah’s beloved Sen. Chris Buttars is hosting a summit on government reform today. The press release is a little short on details (and kind of late notice too, but maybe last night is just when I got it) but it is confirmed Buttars will be hosting a forum with leaders from Utah’s “business, economic, education and political communities” to discuss public policy addressing how taxpayer’s money is spent.---

%uFFFDIt’s kind of a broad subject, but a humdinger nonetheless, and the event will likely be a good opportunity to get a glimpse at what issues Senate leadership will be setting their sights on this session.

Come check it out, Today, Thursday Jan. 21 at the Utah State Capitol, 350 N. State, Capitol Board Room C240 from 1-6 p.m. Or part two of the summit, same location , Friday Jan. 22 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
