It's depressing to think that, once Democrats in Congress finally do manage to ram a meaningful health-care reform package past the obstructionists, there is a whole other line of state-level obstructionists waiting to yank affordable insurance out of the hands of the working class. ---

Utah Republicans' fear of "ObamaCare" might be understandable if the state had any meaningful proposals of its own ... but how can Gov. Herbert accuse the federal government of poking its nose into our business when, up till now, Republicans have made it their business to completely ignore the crisis?

Who knows but that Utah could do a better job than the federal government at assuring universal coverage here? Unfortunately, the GOP's can't-do attitude means we may never find out.

It's time for the teabaggers to step up to the plate, or else go home. Until they have a plan of their own, they have no business attacking those who are actually trying to solve the problem.
