CELEBRA-TION tonight at W Lounge | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

CELEBRA-TION tonight at W Lounge

Local DJ talent will be shown off March 3 at W Lounge---

Fresh from his impressive showing at the City Weekly Music Awards opening party DJ battle, DJ Flash N Flare will be playing along with COBOL, Typefunk, NAWM and DJ kiDD wiDD at W Lounge tonight in a "Celebra-tion" of local DJ talent. Flash N Flare's playing from 9-10, so if the "free before 10:30" line doesn't get you there early, Flash N Flare's set should.

DJ COBOL just won runner-up in Big in 2010 mixtape contest judged by fellow DJs. You can listen to that mix here, along with four other mixes he's done in the past. COBOL's had various shows around Salt Lake in the past couple of years, and his sets always get the crowd moving. Even if you're like me and don't know the difference between dub-step, house or breakbeats it's always clear COBOL knows how to get people pumped regardless of their musical taste. Part of that's got to be the energy he obviously has behind the tables- COBOL's constantly bumping to his beats as he spins and throws back drinks, which undoubtedly gets any crowd on their feet. He'll be playing from 11 to midnight.

NAWM and kiDD wiDD have played various shows together throughout the Salt Lake Valley and Utah County, and even though they're originally from L.A. and Chicago, locals love them. They'll be spinning together from 12-1:45.

The CWMA DJ battle highlighted the amount of talent Salt Lake has, and anyone with an interest in who's coming up to compete with DJs like Loki, Juggy and Chase 1-2 should head down to W Lounge tonight to "Celebrate, get smashed, and get down" with this local talent.

CELEBRA-TION at W Lounge, 358 S. West Temple, Salt Lake City. March 3, 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
