Rico's Fierro wants you to stump up for Latino pols

In the wake of 'the list' scandal last week, Rico's owner Jorge Fierro issued a stern Facebook message this Monday in an attempt to whip up some financial support for Utah's four latino legislative representatives. ---

"It is imperative that we [Latinos at least] support politicians who can represent us, I want to see all of you this Wed. at Frida Bistro [Fierro's high-end Mexican restaurant], 100 dlls contribution is little compare to what could happen if we do not have representation."

So far, according to Fierro's PR, Lorena Riffo-Jensen, Fierro's school principal-like demand has resulted in four sponsors coughing up $250 each and 40 promises to attend from Latinos and Anglos alike.

Those set to benefit from Fierro's pay-up-or-else-they-are-going-to-ship-us-all-back-home mandate are Reps. Mark Wheatley, Ross Romero, Luz Robles and Rebecca Chauvez-Haulk. Only Robles, I believe, is not up for re-election this November.
