Tuesday's new tunes, starring Arcade Fire

The new Arcade Fire album released Tuesday is something to cheer about, but it's not the only new music that will have you cheering.---

Granted, Win Butler and Co.'s new collection, The Suburbs, is certainly the highlight of the week. It's a sprawling bit of songcraft I'm still getting my head around, but suffice to say, it's a must-have for fans of the band's first two albums, and probably more instantly gratifying than Neon Bible

Other releases of note this week:

Autolux, Transit Transit. The boundary-pushing trio gets spacey.

Black Crowes, Croweology, a double-disc acoustic look back at the band's catalog, and a fine primer for the band's show at The Depot Aug. 31.

Buckcherry, All Night Long. I'm guessing the title refers to when the hard-rockers care for their ill children.

Dr. John and the Lower 911, Tribal. A New Orleans legend.

Gov't Mule, Mulennium, a live album from the jam-band heroes.

Lady GaGa, The Remix. Third release of the same songs from her debut, but remixed for your dancing pleasure.

Los Lobos, Tin Can Trust. Still one of America's best rock bands.

Queens of the Stone Age, Rated R-Deluxe Edition. "Cocaaaaaaaaaaaine!"

Squeeze, Spot the Difference. One of my all-time faves, revamping a slew of their classic pop-rock.

Wavves, King of the Beach. Sounds manipulated by the producer of the past two Modest Mouse albums.
