If you're on the fence about going to see live theater, would a free night out entice you to give it a whirl?---

That's what the folks behind the national "Free Night of Theater" movement are counting on, and here in Utah, it means a free night of live theater on Oct. 14 at a number of venues.

Starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, you can visit the NowPlayingUtah "Free Night of  Theater" page, and simply click on the "reserve tickets" link. There, you can choose from Plan B Theatre Company's She Was My Brother, The Grand Theatre's Oliver, Utah Shakespearean Festival's The Adventures of Pericles, Salt Lake Acting Company's Angels in America, Pygmalion Productions' The Coming Ice Age, Tuacahn Amphitheatres Crazy For You, Covey Center for the Arts' War of the Worlds, Covey Center for the Arts' Thriller, Pinnacle Acting Company's Dancing at Lughnasa or Draper Historic Theatre's Footloose.

You simply have to fill out a short survey, then print off your ticket confirmation to take to the box office the night of the show. So hop to it!

MUSIC
Tuesday night offers a couple of noteworthy shows for your consideration.

If you happen to be in the Logan area, or willing to drive, you can catch the legendary Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys along with the Blind Boys of Alabama at the Ellen Eccles Theatre. The double-bill also will be appearing Wedensday night.

Here in Salt Lake City, rising stars Band of Horses (pictured above) headline a show at In the Venue that also includes Admiral Radley and Darker My Love on the bill. Show time is 8 p.m., and tickets are still available.
