Early Opening for Ski and Snowboarding Resorts

Attention snow-bunnies dust off those skis and snowboards because Brighton and Snowbird are open this weekend with the other resorts to follow in the next few weeks.---

The snow has put in an early appearance this year and so the resorts are acting accordingly and opening their doors. (Or should we say lifts.) Brighton opened Veterans Day with free passes for active duty military personnel and Vets. Snowbird will open Nov. 13, Alta will open Nov. 19, Park City Mountain Resort will open Nov. 20, and last but not least The Canyons will open Nov. 26. Although the resorts will be opening a little bit ahead of schedule not all lifts will be operating. Snowbird's Tram, Gadzoom and Chickadee and Brighton's Majestic and Snake lifts will be running. This will of course change further into the season when the snow gods have granted us heavier snowfalls.

With the early start this season promises to be a great one. Patrick Eibs, Brighton Ski Patrol Director said on Brighton's official site," I haven't seen this kind of early snow in years."

For those of you who are looking to get out in the snow early Wina Sturgeon has a few tips.
