We're delving a bit
into the unknown for your Black Friday releases, with two bands who
have nothing informative about their albums! --- The first of these two is Iron Birds. By the
look of things, this hard rock band have been together about only six
months or so. If longer, they sure haven't done anything to show it.
In fact, they haven't shown much of anything. Their MySpace is rarely
visited by themselves and their Facebook only has two videos
available of “recoding sessions”. Supposedly the album is done,
but when trying to reach them for info we got no response back. So
essentially we have no clue what you're walking into with this
group, other than its straight up rock, and they have a band logo. If
you'd like to take a chance and purchase the unknown EP, you can
catch them tonight at Kilby Court. I'd tell you more but not even
Kilby is sure who they're playing with, so it'll all be a surprise to
everyone. $6 starting at 7PM.
Which brings us to the other
unknown release of the evening with some old friends of ours... Small
Town Sinners. The folkish-indie group out of SLC have done pretty well, including getting some airplay on
KRCL and UtahFM with the song “Flask” off their 2010 debut album, The
Dirty Thirty. Now it appears the group has gone back to recording
and EP, or they've compiled some work from the prior album that
didn't quite make it. We can't tell on this one either because they
have no info posted and didn't respond either. All we can tell you is that it probably sounds
much like the first release, and that they'll be playing Bar Deluxe
tonight with Charles Ellsworth. Show starts at 8PM, supposedly
$6.
Head out, love music, buy local!
