Lounge Act Tuesday: No Age, brassy farts and avalanches

It's the last day of November, and it's going out like a lion. A cold, bitter, foot-freezing bastard of a lion. Here are some options for heating up Tuesday night.---

The numero uno possibility in my book is the No Age show at Kilby Court; whether you're gathered around the fire pit or tucked inside the cozy confines of the former garage, the tunes of Dean Spunt and Randy Randall (pictured) are sufficient for blasting away the frost on your nose and toes. Hit the link above to check a video.

Also on the music tip, the Salty Cricket composers collective is presenting its Big Brass Show Tuesday at the Rose Wagner, The Weekenders headline at The Urban Lounge and The Oak Ridge Boys—yup, those "Elvira" dudes—are doing a holiday show at Abravanel Hall.

Finally, and this is some timely info, sadly, the Utah Avalanche Center is hosting an avalanche preparedness seminar at the 3300 South REI Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Well worth the effort if you're a backcountry hiker or skier.
