Lounge Act Monday: Family Force 5 moves, Murderous Monday

We're still in recovery from the City Weekly holiday throw-down Sunday night, a capper to a weekend full of Christmas-related fun. But that won't stop us from forging ahead for more parties.---

Take the Family Force 5 Christmas Pageant (pictured), which was originally going to be at In The Venue, but is now slated for Avalon Theater at 6:30 p.m. What screams "Christmas!" more than jokey raps and dance-friendly alt-rock? I wouldn't expect "Christmas in Hollis," but it should be good fun.

Elsewhere, it's more traditional fare dominating the landscape. You have A Christmas Carol at the Hale Centre Theatre, White Christmas at Pioneer Memorial Theater and Ballet West's The Nutcracker at the Capitol Theatre. The Grand Theatre is tackling Handel's Messiah.

If you're more interesting in delaying the holiday season than embracing it, consider a stop at the Mondays are Murder Book Club at the Day-Riverside Library at 7 p.m., and it's free admission day at the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy, beginning at 11 a.m.
