Local Releases: Christmas Edition | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Well, as they say, its not over until the last band sings. Or in this case, the last several bands. --- Before the year fully wraps itself up music wise we have two late entries into the game. Both holiday Christmas albums! So if you're looking for something a little different that's a straight-up holiday alternative to having KOSY and FM100 shoved up your ass, here's a couple of options. First and foremost, December is probably Velour's month for several reasons. We won't rehash what we've already written about, so we'll focus on this week's addition. Last week they held a two-day holiday show and recorded it all for your listening pleasure. The result after a quick polishing and trimming: Velour Family Holiday Compilation 2010. The album includes: Fictionist, Ryan Innes, Matt Ben Jackson, Eyes Lips Eyes, Kathleen Frewin and more. And on top of that... its free! Absolutely free to download. Just click on this Facebook link here and grab your copy today.

Released last year about this same time, Northplatte Records put out their own compilation of artists on the label (at the time), and they're giving it away again this year. Glory Glory Glory is a full-length Christmas album with artists like Joshua James, The Vibrant Sound, Desert Noises and more.Click on this download link here to get a Zip file of free Christmas music from local artists.  For all you local lovers, its a Christmas miracle!
