Catch The Bachelor last night, with the Salt Lake contestant? Local affiliate ABC 4 wants to know what you think her chances are—because there’s no real news to report, apparently. ---

What’s new tonight:
V (ABC) Season Premiere: Remember this sci-fi alien-invasion soap? Not from the ‘80s, but the last time ABC aired a new episode of the remake. As Season 2 finally arrives, there’s rioting in the streets because the sky is still red (ever heard of an inversion?), lizard leader Anna (Morena Baccarin, right) is losing support among the human race, and there’s some kind of alien-baby situation afoot. The parallels to the Obama administration are uncanny.

The Biggest Loser (NBC) Season Premiere: The fatties are back, and Logan’s Rulon Gardner wants the TV box to make him skinny … and we’ve just exhausted the entirety of my interest in The Biggest Loser.

Live to Dance (CBS) Series Debut: Also known as So You Think You Can Dance With Paula Abdul, this new reality-competition series answers the question “Is there anything Bill could care even less about than The Biggest Loser?” Yes. Bravo, please bring back Hey Paula.

Southland (TNT) Season Premiere: Against all odds and NBC’s genius, The Shield Lite returns for a third season of bustin’ punks in Los Angeles. Tonight, Chino, er, Officer Sherman (Benjamin McKenzie, former resident of The O.C.) and the rest of the force have a full docket of bank robberies and murders to contend with. Basically, everything The Closer let slide last night.

Also new tonight:
No Ordinary Family, Detroit 187 (ABC); Parenthood (NBC); Million Dollar Money Drop (Fox); What Not to Wear (TLC); 16 & Pregnant (MTV); The Fashion Show (Bravo)

Preview: Southland is back on the beat for Season 3.
