What’s new tonight:
Castle (ABC) Along with most every show that isn’t No Ordinary Family or V, Castle has just been picked up for another season by ABC—good news for fans of light crime and subliminal romantic-duo hijinks (besides Bones, what else do they have on TV these days?). Tonight, Castle (Nathan Fillion, finally getting the leading-man break he shoulda had on Firefly) and Beckett (Stana Katic, looking more like a lingerie model than a cop each season) investigate the death of a magic shop owner who drowned in … Houdini’s tank! Is that straight outta Hart to Hart or what?
Men of a Certain Age (TNT) Season Finale: I’m still not in line with every other TV critic on the planet about Men of a Certain Age, but I will say this: At least Ray Romano took a chance on cable drama instead of hacking out another network sitcom after Everybody Loves Raymond. In MCA’s Season 2 finale, the guys head to Palm Springs to … get colonoscopies? Talk about cable edge.
The Bad Girls Club (Oxygen) Season Premiere: It’s a whole new houseful of unbalanced alcoholic skanks—and they’re back in L.A. after a just-try-and-top-this-shit season in Miami. Breakout starlettes of Season 6? Probably Chicago bad girls Jessica and Char, who seem ready to pick fights drunk or sober—an admirable consistency.
Also new tonight:
The Bachelor (ABC); Lie to Me (Fox); Greek, Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family); Tabitha’s Salon Takeover (Bravo); Intervention, Hoarders (A&E); Conan (TBS)
Preview: The Bad Girls Club—back in L.A., back in your hearts, back in the drunk tank.
