Lounge Act Thursday: Roseanne, Ramblers and one crazy Uncle | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Just when you thought it was safe to go into the bookstore, one of Utah's most famous natives arrives to drop knowledge, and maybe a few "f" bombs.---

Yes, former domestic goddess, TV star and rabble rouser Roseanne Barr is in Salt Lake City Thursday night on a book tour supporting her new tome, Roseannarchy. She'll be at Sam Weller's at 6 p.m., and you can listen to an interview City Weekly's Scott Renshaw did with Roseanne right here to get in the mood.

Thursday also marks the first night of a three-day 5th birthday party for the best live music venue in Provo, Velour. Tonight's show includes Cory Mon and the Starlight Gospel, Holy Water Buffalo, Ferocious Oaks and Gypsy Cab. Check out a highly entertaining interview with Velour main man Corey Fox done by Gavin Sheehan for Gavin's Underground right here.

Musically speaking in SLC, Fauna is headlining a gig at Piper Down at 9 p.m., and the Red Desert Ramblers do their bluegrassy thing for free at Sugarhouse Barbecue Company at 6:30 p.m. And if you happen to be in Park City tonight, check out Southern-fried rockers Uncle Lucius (pictured) at Downstairs.
