KO was K-Oed on Friday. Was he pushed or did he jump? Considering that the Countdown host still had two years on his contract and now MSNBC will have to pay him millions without benefit of actually having him on the air to attract the news net’s usual smattering of viewers, let’s say pushed.
There were times (especially during the writers’ strike a couple of years ago) when Olbermann could be as funny and as biting as Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Other times, he was flat-out insufferable. Regardless, I’ll miss Countdown and probably won’t be visiting MSNBC anytime, like, ever now. Chris Matthews is a cartoon, Rachel Maddow’s good if a bit on the bland NPR side, and Ed Schulz … fuck that clown. KO will turn up again somewhere, and I'll be there to alternately cheer and throw objects at the screen.
