We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

A mere nine months after opening, Salt Lake City's own Epic Brewing Company has been ranked as the #3 Top New Brewer in the World by RateBeer.com. Wow. --- That's impressive. RateBeer.com is one of the most highly regarded beer reviewing sites. At RateBeer nine master beer tasters have tallied over 10,000 documented beer ratings and more than three million reviews by RateBeer members.

To determine the Top New Brewer awards, RateBeer ranked 130,000 beers from more than 10,000 brewers worldwide with over 100 new breweries from around the globe in the running for the top spots.

RateBeer’s Executive Director Joe Tucker said of the winners, “We anticipate these are the brewers to watch in the coming years.” He added, “Epic should be very proud of this award.” Epic Brewing Company came third after Greensboro, Vermont’s Hill Farmstead Brewery and Baltimore, Maryland’s Stillwater Artisanal Ales.

“I’m ecstatic to receive this recognition and place it alongside Epic’s six other awards including the GABF Bronze for 825 State Stout,” said Epic co-founder David Cole upon learning of the honor.

Epic Brewing Company is located at 825 South State Street.
