We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

So You Think You Can Stand In Line?

You may see a long line if you're near the Rose Wagner Center tomorrow. If you're a dancer and aspiring reality TV star, maybe you want to be in that line. ---

The Rose Wagner's Jeanne Wagner Theater will be the site for the first round of an open audition for the next season of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (Feb. 2) for registration of dancers between the ages of 18 and 30; other requirements are available online at the show's official Website. Then on Thursday, the thinned-out field will perform in front of the judges at the Capitol Theatre for a chance to join the Season 8 lineup.

All those who wanna show the world what they've got are encouraged to give it a try. All those who live and work in the downtown area on Thursday are warned that Mary Murphy will be in the vicinity, and that sound you hear may not necessarily be an air raid siren.
