We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

Surprising the hell out of me and probably show creator Seth MacFarlane, Fox has renewed American Dad (IMHO, the funniest of the Seth canon) for the 2011-12 season. But will they move out of the 6:30 shit slot? ---

What's new tonight:
Justified (FX) Of all FX's excellent originals (which, currently-running, include Tuesday's Lights Out and Thursday's Archer), Justified is the closest to an indie-flick that you never want to end. It's smart, gritty, funny and just flat-out engrossing once you step into U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens' (Timothy Olyphant) Elmore Leonard-drawn world. And, even more so than Season 1, Justified is a full-ensemble coup, not just a one-man show: Walter Goggins, Natalie Zea and the entire expanded cast are killing it every week. But, for some reason, Season 2's ratings are down slightly from last year. Maybe FX shouldn't have moved it to Wednesdays (where the near-great Terriers died) from its proven Tuesday slot, who knows? Whatever it is, it ain't right and it's up to you to watch harder. Get on that. Tonight's episode (about a hijacked shipment of painkillers) even features a rockin' roadhouse cameo by Dave Alvin of The Blasters. Come on!
