TV Tonight: Royal Pains, Parks & Rec, Rules of Engagement

Another surprise renewal: IFC has picked up David Cross’ The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret for a second 10-episode season. Let’s all toast with a can of Thunder Muscle, shall we? ---

What’s new tonight:
Royal Pains (USA) Season Finale: Thanks to USA’s split runs, Season 2 of Royal Pains comes to an end 10 months (!) after it began last year—and they still haven’t resolved Divya’s (Reshma Shetty) whole arranged-Indian-marriage problem. Indications are that will all come to a head tonight, unless some Boris vs. HankMed business gets in the way. Or messy love re-entanglements. Or John Legend … Wait, who invited John Legend?

Rules of Engagement (CBS) New Night: Shit My Dad Says is over (likely for good), Mad Love has taken the Monday post-How I Met Your Mother slot, so Rules of Engagement moves to CBS Thursday behind The Big Bang Theory. It might be an even more incongruous fit than Shit, but at least Rules of Engagement is funny—anything with Patrick Warburton is. It’s science.

Parks & Recreation (NBC) It’s a business trip to Indianapolis—and Ron Swanson’s favorite steakhouse! That’s all I need to know. Please consult the Pyramid of Greatness.

Also new tonight:
Wipeout, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice
(ABC); The Big Bang Theory, CSI, The Mentalist (CBS); Community, The Office, 30 Rock, Outsourced (NBC); American Idol (Fox); The Vampire Diaries, Nikita (The CW); Fairly Legal (USA); Jersey Shore (MTV); Eagleheart (Adult Swim); Conan (TBS)

Preview: Seriously, how did John Legend wind up on the season finale of Royal Pains?
