We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

TV Tonight: Glee, V, Roast of Donald Trump

Rumor has it that Aerosmith (the classic-rock cover band judge Steven Tyler sings with, kids) will play on American Idol before this season is over. Way to stick to your guns, Joe Perry! ---

What’s new tonight:
Glee (Fox) Tonight, New Directions write and perform original songs. If the name of the glee group is any indication of their stunning creativity, the tunes should be just fantastic. Also, for some reason, Kathy Griffin (!) and Devine (!!) drop in on McKinley High.

V (ABC) Season/Series Finale: Maybe it’s time to face the fact that network TV science-fiction is dead: V and fellow Tuesday-night bomb No Ordinary Family are as good as gone, The Event isn’t faring any better on NBC, and Fox’s Fringe is barely hanging in on Friday nights. ABC’s ambitious remake of the ’80s alien-occupation series V is probably done after tonight—but guess who they got for the finale? Marc “Beastmaster” Singer, the star of the original V! Never mind …

The Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump (Comedy Central) As usual, it’s more about the Roasters then the Roastee—and they are: Larry King, Snoop Dogg, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Whitney Cummings, Anthony Jeselnik, Lisa Lampanelli, Marlee Matlin (?) and Jeffrey Ross; the Roastmaster is Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane. Reportedly, The Situation’s “comedy” performance was so bad that it may not make the final cut, which means that Comedy Central is somehow unfamiliar with his previous work on the dramatic tour de force that is Jersey Shore.

Also new tonight:
Detroit 187
(ABC); The Biggest Loser (NBC); Raising Hope, Traffic Light (Fox); Tosh.0, The Onion SportsDome (Comedy Central); Melissa & Joan: Joan Knows Best (We); What Not to Wear (TLC); Lights Out (FX); The Real Housewives of Orange County (Bravo); My Life as Liz (MTV); Hardcore Pawn (TruTV); Conan (TBS)
