Lounge Act Thursday: Cinco de Mayo edition

Due to my lack of education, I don't know exactly what Cinco de Mayo is all about, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with drinking tequila until you can't feel your face. Here are some activities to help you get there.---

X-96 is hosting its Cinco de X concert at the Great Saltair, featuring Irish-tinged rockers Flogging Molly (pictured) and ICP wannabes Hollywood Undead, along with a few other bands. Flogging Molly always puts on a great show, and the weather turnaround means that outdoor stage is not nearly as ridiculous as it seemed a week ago. 

The Garage is hosting a Cinco de Mayo fiesta with DJ Strange Daze, Rico's is hosting a Cinco de Mayo open houseand The Woodshed has Wasnatch and Green Leafs playing—and no, that technically doesn't have anything to do with Cinco de Mayo, but getting loaded and listening to reggae is generally an acceptable idea no matter what the holiday. where you can eat lots of tasty grub--$15 for an all-you-can-mack taco bar--with a cash bar nearby,

And finally, for the more sober-minded, author Manuel Munoz will be at The King's English reading from his new novel, What You See in the Dark, a thriller with some parallels to the making of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho in its set-up.
